Our new Zünd Digital Cutter/Router reads the fiducials to get "centered" then through-cuts vinyl laminate at maximum speed to produce full wraps for a customer's branded Coleman® 54-Quart Coolers.

The Zünd Digital Cutter/Router kiss-cuts vinyl polycarbonate rulers with lamination after first reading the fiducials on all 4 sheets, with speeds up to 39"/second. That's fast!

With the bit change and fiducials complete, it's time to cut the interior hole diameters in this .020" Metalphoto® substrate. The monitor at the end of the video shows the cut program and status so the operator can continuously and seamlessly observe each precise step.

After first reading fiducials by scanning the substrate perimeter that tells the Zünd where to cut and when, the bit is cleaned with compressed air. Following a bit change using the Automatic Router Change feature, laser initialization occurs which measures the end tip of the bit to the overall height to the bed ("zero-to-zero"). This allows the operator to add the appropriate thickness of the underlay when applicable. The skirt guard is also set, which prevents flying chips and debris. Finally the bits change and the Zünd proceeds to cutting the parts' perimeter.
